The Osa Peninsula is known for its pristine beaches, lush rainforests, and abundant wildlife. National Geographic has called it one of the most biologically intense places on Earth. This is a very special place for John and Kendra who spent several years on the Osa Penisula and still consider this place the most biologically dense places they have ever been. Piotr Naskrecki has also chosen to have a home in Costa Rica as well.
We will be staying at the beautiful Botanika Osa Peninsula, Curio Collection by Hilton. This is a very beautiful place that is perfect to bring family and friends along to enjoy some of their ecotrips into the jungle to see monkeys, tapirs, peccaries, sloths and numerous birds including Tucan's and Macaws. This is one of the nicest places we have ever stayed so it will be incredibly buggy and relaxing, if you allow yourself to do so. If you are interested in bringing family please email kendra@abbottnature.com.
We are also working on a post trip to spend about four days focusing on vertebrates like tapirs, cats, sloths, snakes and frogs. If you are interested in that please email kendra@abbottnature.com.
We will spend 6 days traveling around near the edge of Corcovado National Park to private properties where we can access a diverse group of insects. We will be on the Osa Peninsula at the begging of the rainy season so we hope to see lots of amazing beetles and other insects.
