What is BugShot?

BugShot was created in 2011 by Alex Wild, who saw a need for a workshop dedicated to the smaller majority, invertebrates. Since then we have grown into a workshop that travels around the world in search of the coolest bugs on the planet to photograph. We have between 2 to 4 world famous invert instructors at every workshop that specialize in everything from close up wide angle to high speed to portraits.

We have one to two domestic BugShot in the US every year and one international BugShot a year. If you have a place you think would be great for a BugShot please email us so we can get it on our list.

Our participants have told us that they feel comfortable at our workshops at every level. Everyone learns something. We get professional photographers that want to learn about insects to professional entomologists that want to learn how to photograph bugs. This results in a group of people that just want to learn, our participants are what make BugShots such amazing trips.
