We will spend 4 days at the Dunes Learning Center in the heart of the Indiana Dunes National Park. We will be based on the southern edge of Lake Michigan along the natural sand dunes of the lake.
The housing at Dunes Learning Center will be 4 bunkbeds to a room (we will only use the bottom bunks so (4 people to a room), with 2 sinks, 1 toilet, 1 shower. You will have to bring your own sheets towels and toiletries to stay in the dorms.
There is a hotel Spring House Inn 5 minutes drive to the Dunes Learning Center if you prefer to get your own housing.
Getting There
Participants will arrive Thursday 8th of August 2024 between 2-5 pm. We will get settled in and have dinner and then have some instruction on intro to entomology or intro to photography and start black lighting. The workshop will end Sunday, August 11 around noon.
There is a train and public transportation that you can take from the airport in Chicago, IL to near the Dunes Learning Center. More info coming…

We have offers to take a tour of the Insect Collection at Purdu (Wednesday 7th Aug, 2024) as well as the Field Museum in Chicago (12 Aug 2024). We will send more info after the workshop fills. This is not part of the workshop but if you would like to do this we are arranging it.

The fee for the workshop includes:
• Daily one-on-one and group instruction from Thomas, Alex and John.

The fee for the workshop does NOT include:
Transportation to the field station, alcohol, drinks and snacks outside of meals, souvenirs.
Cancellation policy is as follows:
– 90 days prior: 100% refund minus $300 cancellation fee
– 60 days prior: 50% refund minus $300 cancellation fee
– no refunds 30 days before workshop
